The WSOP Online Event #7, the $250 Mystery Bounty, attracted a host of players, with the field reaching over 4,200 entries to break the tournament’s massive $1,000,000 guarantee. Players who made it into Day 2 of the event were certainly excited, with big bounties kicking in. 6l1518
However, that excitement quickly turned into frustration, as problems started right from the get-go. Many players were unable to and play. Those fortunate enough to get in were able to relentlessly steal the blinds and antes, with a majority of participants in the forced sit-out mode.
Despite numerous complaints coming through, WSOP allowed the tournament to continue for two hours, during which period those players who were logged in proceeded to win a number of Mystery Bounties, including the big $100k bounty.
Eventually, the tournament was stopped, but the damage was already done, leaving the operator in a difficult spot of trying to find the fairest solution for all. However, given the particular format, this one won’t be easy.
Frustration from Both Sides 83y22
Following the official statement from the World Series of Poker about tournament cancellation due to technical difficulties, players took it to X (Twitter) to voice their frustrations. This was caused, in part, by the fact that there was no clear explanation on how the situation would be handled, except for the promise that all players who made it through to Day 2 would be ed.
If WSOP had been quick to stop the event, this whole situation might have been kept under control. However, since the event played on for a couple of hours, quite a few people managed to get their hands on valuable Mystery Bounties. Those individuals aren’t thrilled about the idea of those bounties potentially being taken away.
On the other hand, players who weren’t able to and play at all are making a rather valid point that those bounties weren’t won fair and square. With most of the field not able to play, blinding opponents down to elimination isn’t exactly how the tournament was supposed to go down.
Of course, other players on the site were affected by these technical difficulties as well, not just the ones playing in the bracelet event. Those players’ concerns will need to be addressed as well.
First Major Glitch at the 2025 WSOP 2t36n
Since the 2025 World Series of Poker started a couple of weeks ago, things have been pretty smooth in both live and online departments. The integration of the WSOP+ app happened without any major issues, and the overall consensus is that the app has significantly improved the experience.
Fields have been big live and online alike, with this being the first year that all WSOP.com sites have been brought together into a single network.

- Top-quality software
- Compete for WSOP bracelets & rings
Until a couple of days ago, it was one of the smoothest summer series we’ve seen, but the level of technical difficulties that plagued the platform during Day 2 of the online bracelet Event #7 put a big shade on all of it.
While there is no doubt the operator will do everything possible to fix the problem and ensure something like this doesn’t happen again, players’ confidence has been shaken. No matter how they handle the situation, some players will feel shortchanged.
Hopefully, this will be a one-off occurrence, and the rest of the online series will continue as planned. As for those affected by recent problems, the operator is still working out the solution and will be reaching out directly to the players in the coming days.
